CPU Overclocking and PBO Curve Optimizer

Unlocking the Master Chef Full Speed Potential!

Modern processors come with intelligent automatic boosting algorithms. On AMD Ryzen processors, this is called Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO), and on Intel processors, this is called Turbo Boost Max.

Using Curve Optimizer lets us tune CPU core voltages individually so every single core runs faster while using less electrical power!

How Precision Boost Overdrive Curve Optimizer Works

  1. Voltage-Frequency Scaling: Each CPU core requires a specific voltage curve to reach its maximum boost frequency.
  2. Negative Voltage Offsets: Applying a negative Curve Optimizer offset (such as -15 to -30 mV per core) reduces electrical heat generated per clock cycle.
  3. Thermal Headroom Conversion: Because the CPU runs cooler, the automatic PBO algorithm boosts clock frequencies higher and holds boost clocks longer during heavy gaming sessions!

Tuning PBO Curve Optimizer Step by Step:

  1. Enter BIOS Settings: Press Delete during boot to enter motherboard BIOS.
  2. Navigate to Advanced Overclocking: Go to AMD Overclocking -> Precision Boost Overdrive -> Set to Advanced.
  3. Configure Curve Optimizer:
  • Change Curve Optimizer to Per Core or All Cores.
  • Set Sign to Negative.
  • Set Magnitude value to 15 (or start at 10 for safety).
  1. Test Stability: Reboot into Windows and run heavy benchmarks or game loops. If completely stable with no blue screen crashes, increase negative magnitude toward 20 or 25!
