Vowel & Gain

Two classic effects: make sounds "speak" with vowel and control loudness with gain.

Vowel formants

A vowel effect makes a sound formant like a human voice:

Try different vowels

The vowel effect accepts a, e, i, o, u - and more exotic ones like o, i, u at different octaves:

Gain - control the volume

gain sets the volume. Lower numbers are quieter, higher are louder:

sound("bd").gain(0.2)

Gain as a pattern

sound("hh hh hh hh").gain("0.1 0.5 0.2 1")

This creates an accent rhythm - some hits louder than others!

Mix vowel and gain

TL;DR

• .vowel("a e i o u") makes sounds voice-like.
• .gain(n) sets the volume (0.5 = half).
• Patterns work for both, so you can automate volume and formants.
