Delay & Reverb

Two of the most used effects in music: delay (echo) and reverb (space).

Delay - echo

delay adds echoes of the sound. Use delaytime for the echo timing and delayfeedback for how many echoes:

sound("piano").delay(.25).delaytime(.25).delayfeedback(.5)

• delay - how much echo is mixed in.
• delaytime - time between echoes.
• delayfeedback - how long echoes keep going.

Reverb - space

room adds reverb - like playing in a room, hall, or cave:

sound("piano").room(0.8)

Try room values from 0 to 1.

Room size

room also controls the size of the room (0 = small, 1 = huge). Add size for more control:

sound("piano").room(0.8).size(0.5)

Combine delay and reverb

sound("piano").delay(.2).delaytime(.25).delayfeedback(.4).room(0.5)

TL;DR

• delay, delaytime, delayfeedback make echoes.
• room adds reverb space (0-1).
• size tunes the reverb size.
• They combine beautifully on sustained sounds like piano.
