Bottom Row & Punctuation

Reaching Downward: The Bottom Row

Reaching down to the bottom row (ZXCVBNM) and punctuation marks (, . /) feels slightly awkward at first because your hand curls inward.

Bottom Row Finger Mapping

Left Hand Reaches:
- Left Pinky: Reach down from [A] to [Z]
- Left Ring: Reach down from [S] to [X]
- Left Middle: Reach down from [D] to [C]
- Left Index: Reach down from [F] to [V] and [B]

Right Hand Reaches:
- Right Index: Reach down from [J] to [N] and [M]
- Right Middle: Reach down from [K] to [,] (Comma)
- Right Ring: Reach down from [L] to [.] (Period)
- Right Pinky: Reach down from [;] to [/] (Slash)
🟣 Important

Shift Key Mechanics: Always use the opposite hand to press the Shift key! - If you need a capital letter typed by your right hand (e.g. P), hold Left Shift with your left pinky. - If you need a capital letter typed by your left hand (e.g. Q), hold Right Shift with your right pinky.

The B and N Center Stretch

The keys B and N sit in the middle of the bottom row.

  • B is struck by the Left Index Finger.
  • N is struck by the Right Index Finger.

Practicing words like banana, minimum, and vibe trains these diagonal stretches.
